A collection of strange & beautiful things

We literally have a society built around ideas of fear, distrust and competition. Capitalism rewards cutthroat competition with your neighbor. Our “democracy” teaches you to pick a side and fight with those who don’t choose the same side. Even our hobbies are built on the same notion. You will choose a sports team and then punch someone else in the face because they like the rival team. Or get emotional because the person you wanted to win dancing with the stars didn’t win. There is no limit to which you’re willing to throw laws and pills at problems in hopes that they will just go away. All you want is to get rid of the monster under your bed so you can go back to sleep. But that in and of itself is the problem. You being asleep creates the monsters. You’ll try ANYTHING to lose weight, other than educating yourself on the topic and making lifestyle changes. You want SO badly for the economy to be fixed, but not badly enough to take the time to learn how money actually works to know if the policy you’re voting for even makes sense. Republicans want more guns and Democrats want less. Well they both actively participate in the killing of innocent people and children in other countries around the world EVERY single day, so personally I don’t think either group gets a say on the topic. I certainly wouldn’t ask Ted Bundy what should be done about John Wanye Gacey.

Our entire economic system is built around a marketing concept that we need to actively make people feel fat, ugly, left out and over all unloved so they think they need to buy things. And it certainly works to make people feel that way, but when the buying of things surely doesn’t help cure the negative self image, the individual then falls into a depression at which we’re more than happy to throw pills. Now, sure the pills don’t fix the person’s self image, they just make it so that individual can’t feel anything at all. And we end up with a society full of people who think they’re unloved and unwanted who are physically incapable of feeling anything. I don’t know about you but that certainly sounds like recipe for violence and destruction to me.

This is the world we live in every day. One that turns its back on cooperation and embraces competition. And you sleep right through it. Right up until the moment tragedy strikes in your own back yard and your fear forces you to become alert. But in no time flat the fear will fade and you’ll peacefully go back to sleep. But children are STILL being killed every day all over the world. And a child being murdered anywhere for any reason is completely unforgivable and unjustifiable. WHY WON’T YOU CARE?!! You’re too arrogant and self centered to admit you have no idea what you’re talking about. You simply repeat what you hear on the news. Whether you’re watching FOX news or MSNBC you’re getting nothing but distraction and misinformation. And you’re way too lazy to take the time to turn the TV off and go seek out real information for yourself.

We don’t need new laws. We don’t need new policies. We need a new society. A society whose very survival is based around cooperation. A society that includes instead of excludes. A society where you give a shit instead of burying your face in celebrity news and sports scores just hoping that someone is fixing everything for you so you don’t have to put in the effort of educating yourself.

In conclusion of this tl;dr all I have to say is. Information and compassion spread like wildfire. If all you did was spend just a little bit of your time actually informing yourself with truth about the world around you and caring what actually goes on with out it having to bleed in your lap, that itself will be the change the world needs.

You can sit around and wait for a hero, or you can realize you’re already here.

Reject lies, hate and fear….embrace truth, love and life. And over all…WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In our daily life a certain way of thinking makes us happy, and a certain way of thinking makes us unhappy. In other words, there are certain states of mind which bring us problems, and they can be removed; we need to make an effort in that direction. Likewise, there are certain states of mind that bring us peace and happiness, and we need to cultivate and enhance them.

Work for a cause, not for applause.  Live life to express, not to impress.
